Kids Are The Future

The future of a healthy environment depends on the next generation. That is why the Kids Environmental Classroom aims to help public school children become more aware of their own environmental impact in their communities and develop longer-term thinking about environmental issues.

They are taught to apply environmental principles in their homes by examining local problems and finding solutions. Through a combination of theory and hands-on activities they learn by playing. The ultimate goal is to have the students become agents of change, encouraged to become environmentally responsible members of society.

Learning Together for The Environment

The program targets kids aged 9-15 of public schools in South Kuta. Twice a week, R.O.L.E. provides minibus transfers for 15-20 students per session. As the schools are closed due to COVID-19, the Kids Environmental Classroom is temporarily on hold.

As an alternative, R.O.L.E. Foundation has a weekly afternoon teaching program for local kids of Sawangan. The kids gather in our outdoor classroom to learn English and get environmental lessons in a fun way.

“I enjoy learning about the environment, doing paper and soap recycling, also sowing seeds in the ZeroWaste Center. Can I study here forever?”

“We at Cuca couldn’t think of a better way to literally invest in the future than contributing to R.O.L.E. programs. The fate of our planet lies on the hands of our children and it is our moral obligation to provide them with the education and the tools they need to protect it and save it from ourselves. With Cuca’s small contribution we are hoping to help our next generation take the lead by creating a different relationship with the natural world that focuses on solutions, not excuses. Just what Mother Earth needs.”
