The Bordeaux Red color is extracted from Sappan Wood (Kayu Secang) grown in our Eco-Park. The process involves: split the wood finely, using only the red coloured inner parts of the wood; allow the split sappan wood to dry out; boil it in water for 1-1.5 hours; take out the wood pieces and filter the water; boil until the amount of water is halved. To naturally dye threads or fabrics you need to: boil again and put the material you want to dye into the dye bath; boil while stirring the material until not much water is left; leave the thread/fabric in the pot overnight; the next day, allow to drip-dry.
