Asus International Volunteers| Interactive Training | Topic Think Global Act Local – Tuesday, July 9th 2019

 

As part of their volunteering program, 8 people Asus International Volunteer Program Taiwan participated in our interactive training of Think Global Act Local at Zero Waste to Oceans – Community Environment and Skills Center in Sawangan, Nusa Dua Bali.

After being introduced to R.O.L.E. Foundation, each participants got an eco-passport sponsored by DPG Nusa Dua then went to each station to learn more about environmental problems and local solution in Bali. The interactive training include awareness on deforestation and marine calamity like climate change, unsustainable fishing, pollution and plastic pollution. They also did paper recycling, soap upcycling, discussion on waste management, 7 types of plastics, 3R principle, composting, seed bank, seedling, seed balls, identifying herbs in Indonesia, Indonesian traditional herbal drink (jamu), natural dyes and rang-rang traditional weaving.

They also enjoyed traditional cakes and lemon grass tea. These volunteers from Asus will dedicated their time to teach our Women Empowerment program (Bali WISE) about information and technology for two weeks.
